Dear volunteer to ROH Sorting Party,

With this letter, we’d like to give a big cheer to all the volunteers who braved the rainy weather to help make last Saturday’s ROH Sorting Party a success. Thanks to all who sorted, sewed and packed the bags and boxes.  Thanks also to those who helped at other jobs like registration, serving lunch, organizing the bazaar and clean up. We couldn’t have done it without any of you.

We were able to send about 400 bags and boxes. One truck came and loaded 100 bags for the children of the elementary schools in Qinghai Province. The rest was sent to Henan where the process will be reversed and clothes will be distributed in the next few weeks. Finally, other bags were sent to an orphanage in Anhui.

Each time, we are so amazed to see how the donations fit the needs of the destinations to the T even sometimes to the smallest details like the numerous toys, plastic containers and bicycles. The small bazaar is now becoming a feature of ROH where volunteers contribute in their own way to raise money towards the shipping cost and other expenses.

Again, thank you so much!! We will keep in touch from time to time and we hope to see you at our next sorting party on June 6th at Yew Chung Regency International School in Pudong.

We hope to continue working with all of you on this project. If you would like to be more involved, let us know, and we can discuss in what capacity you could help.

Best regards

Daniel, Margaret and Mark
Coordinators for ROH.
