Where do the items come from?
Items are donated by the expatriate community in Shanghai and the public at large.
Can I donate my furniture and electrical items?
Please do! Give Mark, Daniel or Michael a call and we may be able to collect them from you (most likely during weekends).
Please remember that we have to be able to sell the items so all donations should be in good working condition.

Welcome to "River of Hearts" based in Shanghai China.
What We Do
River of Hearts is a charity program of the Community Center Shanghai.
Foreigners and locals living and working in Shanghai, graciously donate their recyclable clothing at our drop-off locations in and around Shanghai. In February, May and November of each year we (with help from our sponsors) collect this clothing using many trucks and then we "throw huge sorting parties" at an International School - alternating between Puxi and Pudong sides of the Huangpu River.
After a long hard day sorting, 100's of boxes are then loaded on several trucks which then head off to re-distribute all this clothing to "people in need" throughout China.
Our Mission:
To provide a way for people to donate clothing, shoes, bedding, toys and other items in good condition to people in need. Community Center Shanghai works with various charities and governmental organizations to deliver donated items to persons and communities in need.
